Timebomb
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom.
I hear it ticking but I don't know why.
I call the police, but they don't like me.
I hear 'em whispering when I walk by.
I got a landmine in my bloodline.
I'm not immune to getting blown apart.
Having him on my brain's like getting hit by a train, He's gonna kill me.
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom,
It's gonna go off, but I don't know when.
I need a doctor to extract him.
But I got a feeling he'd get right back in again
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom,
I got it badly for my stick-legged boy
He's gonna kill me, and I don't mean softly.
Having him on my brain's like getting hit by a train.
But I got a feeling he'd get right back in again
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom,
I got it badly for my stick-legged boy
He's gonna kill me, and I don't mean softly.
Having him on my brain's like getting hit by a train.
On the left, is a photo of my son playing with his favorite toy: his gladiator sword. I'm already dreading November-- when all the lovely Halloweed decorations are boxed away and Max is left utterly confused until next October.
Last weekend, Max had the truly special experience of being a ring bearer in a wedding. It was a really important wedding: Max's step-grandpa, who is without-a-doubt one of the most influential people in Max's life, has three wonderful college age (or graduated) daughters. And these gals, while they may not have known it at the time, were so crucial to Max's early support system. As young High School kids, all three of Max's step-sisters, as well as Max's Aunty Sara (Eric's half-sister who was also a teenager) and Eric's brother Neil (and family-- including three more cousins for Max!) embraced every last quirk and "autistic-like" behavior of Max's. It was among this love and family that Max proudly walked down the aisle with his rings, only stopping once to remove his "Tuxedo wedgie!"
As you can see in the picture, Max had a pretty large scratch on his face for the precious wedding pictures! My next blog will be adressing Max's problems in his current classroom, and specifically, our constant fight for a one-one-one aide to keep Max and others safe while in the classroom. Until then, here is another picture of Max wearing his tuxedo! Coincidentally, this is the first time Max has come home from school with a battle wound-- usually its the other way around. Max can be quite aggressive when he is frustrated, especially when he stuggles to play and talk with other kids his age. Max is a very lucky boy. He has so many people, on both sides of his family and beyond that see all the amazing qualiies he offers, not simply the "Autism"
